When you read the bible, ask questions.

Ask interpretive: who, what, when, where, why & how

-what type of lit.?

-what do we know about the author?

-what is the main point?

-how do the verses relate to one another?

-when & where was it written?



INTERPRETATION

There can only be one valid interpretation: what the author originally meant. (exegate)

The meaning of the text is never what it means to me (Eiseges)
